Job Summary :
- Provides Laboratory services to meet the needs of patients, performed in accordance with accepted standards and practices.
- Directly supervises personnel and testing / reporting of Laboratory procedures.
- Assures compliance with applicable regulations regarding laboratory operations.
- Responsible for the accuracy of patient results and the efficient operation, staffing and budget of section assigned.
- Works to establish standardized best practices for laboratory processes via assigned sections or laboratory; oversees implementation across the health organization.
- Supports Medical Director of laboratory.
Duties :
- Supervises work flow and staff; educates and trains employees; encourages development of staff’s skills.
- Evaluates reagents, equipment and new testing methods.
- Effectively communicates and resolves concerns across multidisciplinary departments.
- Plans, organizes and directs the activities of other individuals.
- Maintains and reviews all laboratory records, reports, statistical logs and files to meet the requirements of regulatory agencies.
- Maintains compliance with regulatory standards (TJC, CAP, CLIA 88 .
- Ensures Laboratory staff compliance role in regard to the above regulations.
- Provides progressive leadership and management to staff through example and skill.
- Manages events and potential laboratory service interruptions; escalates any such events to the Administrative Director of Laboratory Services as needed,
- Updates executive on laboratory operations
- Maintains daily payroll and . records
Qualifications :
- ASCP - preferred
- 2-4 years of experience working in Microbiology Laboratory required
- 2-3 years of Laboratory management experience preferred
- 4 years / Bachelors’ Degree required
