Columbus Behavioral Center for Children and Adolescents provides mental health services to males and females ages 8 to .
Located in the greater Columbus, Indiana area, our -bed facility provides support to each child and teen that walks through the doors.
We work with the resident, family and community partners to promote a smooth transition back into the home or, if necessary, an additional appropriate level of care.
The trained professionals at our center provide safe and individualized treatment goals for each patient. Our Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) increases the development of behavioral skills that can help patients build relationships, manage emotions and cope more effectively with various life problems.
In addition, our residential treatment program offers a balance of therapy, education, and fun activities in a safe, structured setting.
We focus on the needs and safety of our patients with -hour licensed staff supervision, which includes registered nurses.
The National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention (Action Alliance), a public-private partnership, has partnered with Columbus Behavioral Center for Children and Adolescents, to strengthen the country’s clinical capacity to provide innovative suicide prevention and care.
The partnership significantly advances one of the central priorities of the Action Alliance to transform health systems and reduce suicides and marks Columbus Behavioral Center for Children and Adolescents’ commitment to be at the leading edge of the transformation.
About the role :
The is responsible for planning and implementing clinical services for assigned programs, which involves defining and implementing treatment goals as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team and ensuring quality patient care, observation, and interaction.
The Director of Residential Services has direct supervision responsibilities for the Milieu Manager, Staff Scheduler, Staff Development Coordinator, and oversight of facility Mental Health Technicians including payroll, hiring, and recommendation of corrective action up to and including termination.
The Director of Residential Services is responsible for the orientation process, training & development, and centralized scheduling of all facility Mental Health Technicians.
The Director of Residential Services must have good communication skills and be able to interact with members of all facility departments.
Additional duties may be assigned. This is an exempt position reporting to the CEO.

Qualifications
Position Requirements :
- Education : Degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, social work, recreational therapy, or appropriate therapeutic field is required.
- Experience : 3-5 years of clinical / supervisory experience in a child / youth long-term care setting required. Knowledge of psychiatric resident care techniques and understanding of mental illness preferred.
- Licensure : Must maintain a valid Indiana driver's license.
- Additional Requirements : CPR, First Aid certification, and successful completion of HWC within days of employment and prior to assisting in a seclusion / restraint intervention.
A rotating schedule consisting of night and weekend work will be required.
