Job Summary :
Reporting to the Associate Director, Copy and Content Strategy, the Brand Copywriter is responsible for developing compelling narrative that inspires future business leaders through real-world, authentic storytelling - in earned, owned, paid and shared media.
From social to digital ads to video scripts, the copywriter's work will connect deeply with prospective students, current students and alumni to reveal the essence of our collaborative and ambitious community.
They will interpret creative briefs, performance insights and complex data, leading to compelling content and copy; ensuring our messaging remains fresh and relevant.
The copywriter will have a deep understanding of the Kellogg student and alumni experiences that supports the creation of engaging social media coverage, live sessions and campaigns that showcase the true spirit of Kellogg.
They will accomplish their work in partnership and close collaboration with the communications, digital, events and marketing teams to leverage collective insights that lead to engaging, resonant content.
Please note : Evening and weekend hours are occasionally necessary when workload or event coverage requires it.
Specific Responsibilities :
- Content Creation and writing : Develop clear, concise, and engaging copy in earned, owned, paid or shared media in a variety of formats, including digital ads, social media posts, and website content.
- Editing and Proofreading : Using excellent attention to detail, review and edit copy produced by team members to ensure quality, clarity, error-free work that adheres to brand guidelines.
- Research and Performance Analysis : Leverage analytical skills to interpret creative briefs, performance insights, and complex data.
Analyze the performance of copy and campaigns, using data to refine and improve future content.
Collaboration and Communication : Work with a range of internal and external partners, including designers, UX, marketing managers, comms specialists and subject matter experts on projects.
Works across the Integrated Marketing and Communications team, including marketing, digital and events teams to leverage collective insights that lead to engaging, resonant content.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of content while maintaining high standards of quality.

Minimum Qualifications :
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree;
OR appropriate combination of education and experiences.
5-7 years of experience as a copywriter.

- Collaboration Skills : Thrive in team environments and are comfortable working closely with a range of partners, including designers, UX, marketing managers, comms specialists and subject matter experts.
- Time Management Skills : Manage time effectively, allowing for meeting tight deadlines without compromising the quality of work or stakeholder needs.
- Persuasion Skills : Focus on crafting copy that effectively influences readers to take action, whether it's applying, donating or signing up for a newsletter.
- SEO Knowledge : Possess a solid understanding of how to harness SEO keywords and content hierarchy to enhance visibility and engagement.
- Passion for the Job : Maintain a passion for writing and continual improvement, fueling a desire to create impactful content that resonates with readers.
Preferred Qualifications :
BS or MS in Marketing, Communications or related field.
Target hiring range for this position will be between $67,000 - $77,000 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
