CNA Patient Transport Driver
Santa Monica Convalescent Center is looking for a dynamic CNA Patient Transport Driver with a CDL to join our clinical team and provide our residents with an exceptional care experience .
As the Patient Transport Driver you will provide driving services for the transportation needs of our residents. This position will be driving a company van with a wheelchair lift and providing assisted, safe passage for those in need.
Responsibilities :
- Drives van to transport residents to and from scheduled group activities and individual appointments.
- Coordinates driving schedule to ensure residents arrive on time to scheduled appointments and outings.
- Maintains and completes daily inspections and minor van maintenance (check oil level, wiper fluid level, etc.) to ensure safety of vehicle and passengers.
- Assists residents in and out of vehicle; assists in securing passengers safely.
- Serves as a key representative of the community and makes an active contribution towards community relations and public regard by driving safely and adhering to all traffic laws.
- Assists Administrator (NHA) with administrative tasks as assigned.
- Maintains vehicle cleanliness.
Experience :
- Ability to read and interpret documents including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, short correspondence and memos
- Ability to lift patients and help move wheelchair or additional patient care equipment in and out of vehicle.
- Background clearance and TB screening required.
- Compassion for the elderly and commitment to hospitality and service.
- Positive and nurturing personality, a true want to help and care for those in need.
- Team oriented and collaborative spirit.
- Experience in long-term, skilled nursing care a plus, but not required.
License / Certification :
- CDL License and Valid CA Driver’s License with clean driving record required.
- Current CNA certification in state of CA required.
