DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION
As part of a triad leadership model of operational / administrative, nursing, and physician leadership, serves as the operational leader for the assigned locations of MU Health Care.
Responsible for the short and long term operational, quality, and financial goals of assigned physical locations, department(s) and service lines.
Serves as a trusted operating partner and advisor to the Health System COO.
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to gather data, identify challenges, and assess opportunities for improvement.
Uses data to evaluate clinical and administrative operations and works to streamline processes and enhance patient care.
In collaboration with stakeholders, develops and communicates a strategic roadmap for all locations, outlining clear goals, objectives, and actionable steps for future state.
Establishes organizational structure, resource allocation, and technology enhancements to align with long-term vision.
Provides direction and leadership in the development of planning for physical facilities and equipment for MU Health Care facilities to meet the needs of the patients and care providers in areas of responsibility.
Collaborates with executive leadership, clinical teams, and key stakeholders to gain buy-in and support for proposed changes and initiatives.
Communicates progress, findings, and recommendations effectively to all levels of the organization.
Utilizes knowledge of operational and regulatory requirements to guide the COO in mitigating risks and ensuring adherence to regulatory and operational guidelines in areas of assigned responsibility.
Develops and implements change management strategies to facilitate the adoption of new processes and technologies. Drives performance improvement initiatives to produce results on time and within budget.
Monitors and assesses the impact of changes, making necessary adjustments to ensure successful implementation.
Effectively manages organizational change through a well-communicated vision and mission, as well as clear and articulate assignments and expectations of others.
Partners with medical staff, involving them with planning and operations as appropriate.
May complete unit / department specific duties as outlined in department documents.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in health administration, business administration or a related field.
Ten (10) years of experience in healthcare operations at the management level.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in an academic medical center or large tertiary teaching hospital.
