Position Description
The person in this position will be working on our new home builds and in our critical home repair program as needed. Some days you will be working with large teams and other days you will be working independently on a project.
Your ability to work in a team, manage others and work independently are critical success factors in this position.
This is a hands-on position meaning in addition to supervising others, you will be performing many tasks by yourself. If you are not handy and do not know how to perform basic constructions tasks such as framing, interior trim etc.
You Will Not be Considered For This Position.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead skilled and unskilled volunteers and professional tradesman in our new home builds and critical home repair projects
- Strong commitment to a safe work environment and adherence to all OSHA guidelines, policies and procedures
- Support program and organizational goals
- Be a positive role model / mentor for volunteers
- Perform other duties and tasks as instructed by the Construction Manager and or Executive Director
Required Attributes & Skills
- Minimum of 3-5 years of general construction knowledge.
- Honest, hard-working, team oriented, reliable, conscientious, disciplined, engaging, supportive, patient, organized and kind
- Hands-on general construction knowledge
- Strong interpersonal, communication and teaching skills (mostly work with unskilled volunteers)
- Passionate about the mission of Habitat for Humanity and a strong desire and conviction to serve
- Valid Driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check
Physical and Environmental Demands
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, squat, bend, climb and crawl for long periods throughout the day
- Extended exposure to all weather conditions : Hot, cold, sun, rain and snow
- Exposure to moderate to loud noises and power tools
THIS POSITION IS FULL- TIME / SALARIED / EXEMPT. PAY BASED ON EXPERIENCE
Job Type : Full-time
Pay : $40,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
