Responsibilities
Peyton Manning Children's Hospital is a 97 bed level IV NICU. In Fall of 2024 we will transition to a brand new state of the art Women’s and Children’s tower featuring 109 private NICU rooms on Ascension St.
Vincent’s main campus. Additionally, our neonatologists cover a 16 bed Level III NICU at Ascension St.Vincent Carmel Hospital and support NNPs covering a nearby regional hospital level II nursery via telehealth.
Our NICUs admit over 1000 newborns each year, and our hospitals average 5000 deliveries a year, with a high proportion of high-risk deliveries and referrals from our maternal-fetal OB providers.
Our NICUs are supported by a full range of pediatric subspecialties including pediatric cardiology, neurology, pulmonology, nephrology and medical genetics.
Additionally we are supported by the full range of pediatric surgeons including general surgery, neurosurgery, ENT and cardiovascular surgery.
Position Details :
Clinical service for all neonates admitted to the Level IV and III neonatal intensive care units
Primary day-time attending coverage in NICU at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital as well as Ascension St Vincent Carmel
In-house night call at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital and Ascension St Vincent Carmel.
Oversight of pediatric residents and mid-level providers including NNP, PA and PNP.
Attendance of high-risk delivery service and consultation with high-risk mothers on the obstetric service
Multiple opportunities for work in quality improvement and involvement in Vermont Oxford Network
Participation in teaching curricula for medical students, pediatric residents, and advanced practice providers (NNPs and PAs)
Faculty appointments within the IU School of Medicine and / or Marian University School of Osteopathic Medicine are available

Responsibilities :
- Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills. Coordinates discharge planning with case management.

- Provides appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
- Participates in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.
Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration :
- Physician MD / DO credentialed from the Indiana Medical Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.
Education :
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
