We are currently seeking a summer intern(s) to work in our Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (ODEI), which supports and leads bank-wide diversity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
Successful individuals should be following an academic track in Computer Science, Business, Finance, Communications or Sociology, and have some experience or interest in the fields of diversity, equity, inclusion, sociology or related topics.
Who are we you ask? We are a federally chartered corporation and one of 11 Federal Home Loan Banks (FHLBanks) that, with the Office of Finance, comprise the Federal Home Loan Bank System.
The FHLBanks were chartered by Congress under the Federal Home Loan Bank Act of 1932 to improve the availability of funds to support home ownership.
Each FHLBank is cooperatively owned by member financial institutions in its district and operated as a separate entity with its own management, employees, and board of directors.
Our district consists of the states of Illinois and Wisconsin. We are regulated by the Federal Housing Finance Agency, an independent federal agency.
How you'll make an impact :
- Work with our employees and stakeholders to engage them in DEI educational opportunities.
- Plan conferences and other events for our Board of Directors and other FHLBanks in the system.
- Support cross-team initiatives and socialize new ideas with stakeholders.
The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Summer Internship will involve the following :
- Work directly for the Director of ODEI various projects as assigned, which will include research projects.
- Provide support for ODEI weekly meetings and periodic Board presentations, and other projects that support Bank-wide DEI goals.
- Support the development of the Bank's Cultural Exploration and other DEI initiatives.
- Help to advance the corporate DEI strategy across the organization.
Requirements
- Applicants should be enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited institution.
- Applicants should have a GPA of at least 3.0 and be in good academic standing; transcripts will be requested.
- Desired fields of study include Liberal Arts, Business, Finance, Public Policy, Communications, Sociology, or Related Fields
- Working knowledge of or strong interest in Finance and / or Banking industries
- Fluency in Microsoft Office
- Internships will start May 2025; the start / end date may be flexible based on school schedule.
