General Construction typically involves assisting millwrights and other crew members in various tasks, and jobs related to machinery installation, maintenance, and repair in industrial settings such as factories, and construction sites. Some common responsibilities may include:
- Assisting with Equipment Setup: Helping to assemble, install, and align machinery and equipment according to blueprints and technical specifications.
- Material Handling: Moving and transporting heavy machinery components and parts using hand tools, forklifts, cranes, and other equipment.
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Making sure work areas are clean and organized, and assisting with routine maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment.
- Troubleshooting: Assisting millwrights in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues with machinery and equipment.
- Safety Compliance: Following safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Learning and Development: Willingness for the opportunity to learn from experienced millwrights and develop skills in machinery installation, repair, and maintenance.
Experience in welding, rigging, and fabricating is preferred but we are willing to train a dedicated person. With hand tools, mechanical aptitude, physical stamina, and a willingness to learn are typically important qualities for someone in this role. It can be a great entry point for those looking to start a career in the millwright field, as it provides hands-on experience and opportunities for advancement with further training and experience.
The majority of the work will be done outdoors.
Travel frequently and must be comfortable heights.
Will be paid $55 per diem per day (food and beverages) and hotel costs are covered.
