Salary Range : $46,000 - 65,000 per year (depending on years of experience)

Job Summary
The Philadelphia District Attorney's Office is interested in hiring a social worker (licensed / trained MSW) to work with participants of the Alternative Felony Disposition Program ("AFD").
AFD works with first-time offenders charged with felony offenses by offering them case management, access to services, and assistance in finding work and / or educational opportunities.
The social worker will expand this program within Philadelphia's District Attorney's Office in partnership with the Center for Carceral Communities, which is part of the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy and Practice.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Work directly with 20- 30 participants in the AFD program, providing individual case management and support.
- Refer and connect participants to local service providers.
- Attend court sessions with participants.
- Facilitate weekly 90-minute group meetings with individuals in the program, to establish rapport and a sense of community.
- Write brief reports summarizing participants' progress.
- Collaborate with assigned Assistant District Attorney.
Skills & Qualifications
- All qualified applicants must have earned a Masters of Social Work (MSW) degree from an accredited university. Have attained 1-3 years of social work / case management experience and 2-3 years of clinical social work experience
- Valid and current MSW license.
- Experience working with people in under-served communities. Experience working with individuals impacted by the Philadelphia Criminal Justice System is preferred.
- Experience with group facilitation and case management.
- Excellent listening and communication skills.
- Ability to develop and cultivate effective internal / external working relationships is essential.
- Candidates must be organized, flexible and capable of working under pressure.
- Able to assist participants after-hours, if needed.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
