Position Information
The Staff Speech-Language Pathologist evaluates and treats patients by physician referral. They plan treatment programs and performs therapy procedures to restore function, prevent disability and maximize the potential and quality of life following disease, injury or surgery.
They appropriately modify treatment plans and procedures specific to early adult, middle adult and late adult patients, and use communication techniques for specific age groups.
They apply knowledge of the aging process to obtain optimal results. They participate in community presentations, staff in-services and other departmental activities as requested by the Manager of Rehabilitation Services.
They participate in the clinical supervision of students, Speech-Language Pathology Clinical Fellows, and rehab operations assistants.
Minimum Requirements
Education
Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology
Experience

License / Registration / Certifications
- Certification by the American Speech Language Hearing Association and / or Clinical Fellowship Year
- Valid South Carolina Speech Language Pathology License

- BLS / CPR
- Long term care experience preferred
- Cognitive Dementia experience preferred
