Location : Orlando, FL- Hybrid (3 Days Onsite)

Duration : 18 month initial contract

Compensation : $75-81 / hr

We seek an experienced systems engineer who will join a DevOps / SRE cultured Systems Engineering team for our client. Primary responsibilities include provisioning and supporting web and mobile applications for a large scale enterprise environment.

This position works closely with various business engineering and production teams to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and provide customer support.

The role requires someone who is creative, proactive, constructive, and highly motivated.

You will work in an extremely collaborative and high energy environment. In this role, you will actively engage with development / QA teams, product / project managers, and product / business teams.

You will lead project / planning efforts, architectural review or design, attending meetings with various teams. You will provision, tune, and automate systems and applications.

You will provide systems administration and application maintenance and support.

Responsibilities :

• On-call support as required.
• Updates to monitoring.
• Access management.
• Root cause analysis.
• Documentation - Runbook maintenance.
• Engineering duties include (but are not limited to) :
• Working with product teams to deliver operational (security, business) solutions.
• Provisioning new services.
• Responsible for creating breakdown of tasks to meet project objectives.
• Responsible for on time ticket and task completion.
• Responsible for turning strategy into multiple project objectives.
• Responsible for communicating project status.
• Accountable for / teaching other engineers how to create breakdowns of tasks.
• Accountable for / teaching other engineers how to complete tasks on time.
• Responsible for sharing their work / experiences with the greater org.

Skillset / Experience :

• Bachelor degree or 5+ years of equivalent work experience.
• Technical experience in consumer and employee facing enterprise systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot applications and systems.
• Expertise in maintaining web, caching, and queuing technologies in large high traffic environments.
• Expertise in architecting highly scalable and highly available systems.
• Expertise in a public cloud (AWS or Google’s GCP, Azure).
• Proficiency with containerization.
• Proficiency in programming.
• Proficiency with distributed version control systems (for example GIT) with Continuous Integration / Deployment techniques.
• Proficiency supporting SQL and NoSQL technologies.
• Excellent communication and relationship skills, able to articulate advanced technical topics to both technical and non-technical staff.
• Ability to communicate clearly in high pressure situations to all levels of stakeholders.
• Experience troubleshooting during on-call situations : demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in technical process, incident response, and change management (ITIL experience).
• Experience with compliance and vulnerability management.
• Ability to collect and articulate forensic details to facilitate root cause analysis.
• Self-starter, able to lead project / planning efforts, architectural design, and attend team and product meetings.
• Ability to guide other Systems Engineers to prioritize workload, discuss technical challenges, and manage multiple tasks from start to finish.

• Rundeck, Chef, Ansible, Vault.
• Message Queueing : RabbitMQ, PubSub.
• Google Cloud Platform (App Engine, Kubernetes (Helm / Tiller), Cloud Functions, Firebase, IAM).
• Load balancers.
• Programming languages : Go / Python / Node.js (Angular.js framework) / Java (Spring MVC).
