Chef Chetan Shetty, formerly of Rania in DC, and Indian Accent is currently hiring for a Lead Pastry Cook for a Modern Indian Restaurant.
Our pastry program will be consulted on by Michael Werrell, (formely of EMP, Dominque Ansel, and Audrey & June - Sean Brock).
Michelin Experience is appreciated; Rania, under Chetan's tutelage was awarded 1 Michelin in the first year of being open, and we hope to do the same in NYC! Experience with Indian cuisine is not required, but some knowledge would be great! The restaurant will be opening in the Flatiron neighborhood the beginning of October, so we are beginning our search now.
We are building an amazing team, and we are looking to now fill this key position with an amazing hospitality culinary professional.
Competencies & Qualifications :
- 3+ years of Pastry experience in fine dining environment
- Accurate knife skills
- Ability to read and follow recipes and standards
- Ability to produce a volume of work in a timely manner, which is accurate, complete, and of high quality
- Actively practice food safety procedures according to the DOH
- Organizational skills
- Effective time management
- Ability to lift large items up to 50 pounds
