Responsibilities Use and administration of CAD systems, primarily Autodesk Product Design and Manufacturing applications, especially Inventor, for the creation of files, drawings, estimations and fabrication details Oversight of Jira status updates for shop drawings and revisions Supervise, coordinate, manage, and design work for multiple projects of all sizes Ensure that direct reports are performing in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing for hiring, planning, assigning, training, directing work, and appraising performance for team members Address customer design and revision questions, complaints and problems Communicate updates on missing customer information needed for shop drawings and revisions Must be able to review, process, and file a high volume emails daily Responsible for accurate design detail, drawing revisions, and quality documentation Provide direction, day-to-day oversight of assigned team members, and man-hour engineering estimates Improve department efficiency and sustainability of processes and product designs, and to reduce waste Ownership of projects, including quality, budget, schedule, plans, documentation, reports, and revisions Lead teams in the development and improvement of new products, solutions, workflow processes standards, templates and design guides Provide leadership for the assessment and evaluation of proposed design changes, specification, and drawing releases, and make recommendations Make improvements to department workflow processes, standards, templates and design guides Complete engineering assignments requiring a broad knowledge in an engineering specialty Generate Engineering Change Notice before the start of all out-of-scope work, develop construction scope of work documents Review product design and custom drawings for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, customer requested changes and related project specifications Provide support to manufacturing and acquire familiarity with manufacturing operations Collaborate with other team leaders and departments, provide information for inter-discipline coordination, collaboration, and problem resolution Qualifications - Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and SolidWorks - Experience in drafting and creating schematics - Background in mechanical design and 2D animation - Strong communication skills - Knowledge of manufacturing processes - Ability to use Jira effectively - Certification in CAD or related field is a plus Powered by JazzHR
