Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno, seeks applicants for Manager, NSHE Payroll Services . Under the supervision of the Director, NSHE Payroll Services, the Manager, NSHE Payroll Services is responsible for supporting the payroll operation for the Nevada System of Higher Education, including the direct supervision of staff.

This position is responsible for the execution of all payroll payments and will monitor, execute, and analyze payroll integrations with internal and external parties.

The Manager, NSHE Payroll Services is responsible for data analysis, reporting, and auditing of payroll liabilities such as multi-state taxes, federal tax deposits, healthcare, and the two retirement plans for NSHE.

This position will be responsible for processing and completing off-cycle payroll payments, as well as the classified and professional pay cycles.

This position will be responsible for testing and implementing changes to the payroll system, including the maintenance of payroll calendars and schedules, updates from benefits providers, and the configuration of new functionality as mandated through federal, state, and Board policies.

Operation of the NSHE Payroll Services must be in conformity with state and federal regulations, Board of Regents policies, institutional budget constraints and accepted accounting practices.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree and four (4) years of related professional work experience; OR

Master’s degree and two (2) year of related work experience required.

Related Experience : responsible payroll experience, including direct supervision of staff, and multi-tax reporting

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with higher education knowledge, Workday and retirement and liability reporting experience are encouraged to apply.
