We are currently seeking a full-time Project Engineer , who will serve as a specialist in pre-construction planning . The ideal candidate has attained a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or other technical discipline relevant to the construction industry) and has 2-5 years of industry experience, preferably in the metropolitan New York City market.
The candidate must be a well organized self-starter seeking an opportunity for continued career growth in the construction industry.
The candidate should be familiar with construction estimating and scheduling principles and be knowledgeable of building systems and their construction.
Experience in the areas of building trade and design consultant procurement, construction administration (permits, project reporting, change management, document control, risk management, etc.
and construction site safety are all desirable. Responsibilities will include : Developing project schedules and budgets.
Reviewing design documents. Determining required scope of work and preparing bid documents. Facilitating procurement process of both design and construction contracts.
Performing constructability reviews. Proposing / evaluating value engineering. Preparing construction Phasing & Logistics plans.
Review and facilitate project administrative requirements (i.e. permitting, insurance and bonds, agency approvals, coordination with utility companies, etc.
Preferred Qualifications : Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or technical field relevant to the construction industry Required.
Minimum 2-5 years of experience design and construction experience. Strong computer skills (MS Office, MS Project, Adobe Acrobat).
Experience with Procore, Projectwise, AutoCad, Microstation, BlueBeam, Primavera P6 and / or Revit a definite plus. Excellent communication skills for interfacing with internal and external contacts.
