Description

The Senior Interior Designer / Space planner will develop designs, specifications, and prepare construction documents for interior scopes of work of government, military, and commercial aviation facilities.

This position serves in a leadership role and drives interior design programming, design, and furniture strategies. The Interior Designer / Space Planner works directly with the client, manages and mentors junior staff, and assists with integrating interior design concepts with architectural and engineering systems.

Lead designer for interior design of government, military, and commercial aviation projects.

Lead a team of junior interior design staff in the development and execution of projects.

Work within a project team of architects and engineers, meeting with clients to assess needs and develop space programs for projects.

Assist with the marketing efforts in pursuing architectural / interior design work.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in interior design, interior architecture, or related degree from an accredited program.

Minimum 8 years of related interior design, interior architecture experience

Excellent written & verbal communication skills.

Demonstrated knowledge of architectural principles and theory associated with project design and construction document production

Demonstrated knowledge of Interior Design specifications, calculations, industry standards as well as visual, written and oral skills

A National Council for Interior Design Qualifications (NCIDQ Certification) is required.

Strong programming, design, space planning, construction documentation and leadership skills.

Strong analytical & problem-solving skills.

Current understanding and application of commercial furniture systems.

Experience in Revit required.

Experience in 3-D visualization software such as Enscape and / or Lumin is preferred.

Experience with government and military design standards is preferred.

This job posting will remain open a minimum of 72 hours and on an ongoing basis until filled
