Senior Accounting Manager

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager / Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will feel at ease working in a lean environment where their contribution is critical and valued.

You will play a part in all corporate accounting functions including monthly close, annual audit and tax returns with external accounting firm.

Additionally, the position will partner with CFO on FP&A, financial modeling / budgeting, KPI tracking, investor / lender reporting and M&A.

This is a difference making role with a high level of responsibility and input.

Responsibilities :

Manage all aspects of accounting functions and the month-end close process (G / L, A / P A / R, etc.), account reconciliations and financial reporting;

you own the G / L and ensure compliance with GAAP

• Lead in unification of accounting function and processes across all the company (e.g. standardizing close process, coordinating timing of multiple processes, adherence to processes, etc.)
• Drive timely financial close
• Preparation of monthly financial statements including the analysis of company performance vs. prior period
• Responsible for the preparation and / or guidance for complex monthly calculations / journal entries (such as revenue recognition, deferred revenue, and other accruals)
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve accounting discrepancies
• Assist in compilation of monthly and quarterly investor reporting and compliance reporting
• Compile annual reporting including footnotes and disclosure
• Drive forward financial statement audits and work with our outside CPA firm to ensure timely issuance of our annual audit and tax reporting
• Develop, implement and maintain effective internal controls and processes to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting, integrity of corporate data, and best practices
• Responsible for sales and use tax reporting
• Documentation of processes and policies across financial and operating cycles at all entities
• Work with team to streamline and sync up historical reporting (G / L) with budget and forecasts
• Complete ad hoc projects as needed

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience as an Accounting Manager or Controller
• Bachelors degree in accounting
• CPA preferable
• Combination of public and corporate accounting experience a plus
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and of financial statement preparation and management reporting
• Experience in designing and implementing accounting processes and controls
• Hard worker and care about doing a good job; you take pride and ownership of your work

Extra Credit

• Startup and / or experience at private equity backed companies
• Familiarity with some of our financial tech stack, i.e. Quickbooks online, Stripe, bill.com, RAMP, Floqast, slack, gsuite of apps, Periscope, SQL
• Experience with iOS app revenue

Salary Description

$120,000 - $125,000
