RTS Program Coordinator
Road to Success at Charlestown High School (formerly Diploma Plus) is an alternative education program within Charlestown High School.
It exists to support students with earning a high school diploma, developing a positive self identity and creating plans for after graduation.
The program is structured for students to complete in two years. Students have the opportunity to work at their own pace.
We are a competency and project based learning community with a Restorative Justice Lens. We focus on three core values : Ubuntu, self awareness, and critical consciousness.
POSITION OVERVIEW :
Road to Success (RTS) is seeking a Program Coordinator to work
within the program and to have duties within the school at large. RTS currently serves approximately 40 students ages 17-20.
The Program Coordinator will manage multiple tasks and work to establish, implement and maintain systems that will ensure a highly effective and well-functioning learning environment, assessment procedures, data and data collection systems, and personnel management.
Operations Manager must be able to work with multiple stakeholders
and school partners to help deliver the best experiences possible for RTS students.
RESPONSIBILITIES : Data Management
Data Management
Help to develop, coordinate and administer data retrieval and collection systems, surveys, (school climate, attendance, programming, health and wellness, safety, etc.
to help identify promising practices / address areas of improvement
- Track program data and report data to proper entities / programs
- Help to identify and define systemic patterns / problems, monitor ongoing efforts to address challenges
Systems and Infrastructure
- Create and maintain program calendar
- Lead ongoing communication with families and other stakeholders
- Develop / Maintain systems across multiple programs within the school to ensure the smooth functioning of schedules and programs (to include daily duties of entry, lunch, daily field trips to local stores, and dismissal)
- Perform analysis and assessment of systems on a regular basis
- Support the development of a master schedule
- Lead the fidelity of school culture systems and provide feedback to staff on implementation
- Support and manage enrollment operations
- Partner with Reengagement Center to ensure transition systems are effective and efficient
- Inventory program items
- Participate in weekly / monthly meetings with staff members to discuss ongoing systems of program and progress; Lead program meetings as needed
- Generate discipline documentation
- Audit Panorama and provide feedback to staff on family communication
Partnerships
- Work closely with school partners to leverage opportunities for student success
- Initiate partnership meetings
Assessments
- Ensure assessment schedules are followed
- Order, receive, ship, safeguard, distribute and account for all testing materials in collaboration with school coordinator
- Ensure accurate upload of assessment data : MCAS, WIDA, MAP (and other state assessments)
- Ensure all assessments are properly staffed
- Ensure all staff are properly trained and tests accurately proctored
Personnel Management
- Manage / maintain daily staff absences, ensure classroom coverage
- Support the evaluation of all non-instructional and support personnel
QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED :
This is a full-year, full-time position, 223 days.
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in data collection and reporting
- Experience in program and / or project management, evaluation, and analysis
- Familiarity with state and other district assessments
- Proficiency in Office Suite; Excel required
- Strong organizational skills with outstanding attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create trusting relationships and program partnerships
- Successful experience with planning and conducting meetings; and facilitation and training methodologies
- Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities guiding investments in people and systems (Acute attention to detail and project completion)
- Demonstrate capability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders, such as school staff, school partners, families, youth, community members and other essential internal and external partners
- Comfort with handling multiple projects simultaneously asn well as working with rapidly shifting priorities
- Experience working with diverse student populations
- Commitment to self-reflections and ongoing learning
- Experience developing and monitoring systems for quality improvement
- Current authorization to work in the United States
- An understanding of and commitment to gain greater understanding of what is necessary for an urban school system to enjoy continuous improvement in an increasingly complex and competitive environment.
- A deeply held and unyielding belief in the overarching mission of public education.
In addition to the responsibilities outlined below, all staff are expected to support the creation of intervention plans, engage in student support meetings, analyze data,communicate with families, support student activities, and participate in PD (program wide and whole school).
Additional Preferences
- Bi-lingual preferred
- Experience in project management, data tracking, and school / program systems
- Post graduate degree in a relevant discipline
- 3-5 years experience in urban setting
- Familiarity with Boston and Boston Public Schools
