As a Plumbing Technician, you will be responsible for providing unparalleled service to our residents by maintaining and improving the plumbing of our communities.
You will perform, troubleshoot, repair, inspect and replace plumbing equipment including, but not limited to, water piping, faucets, lavatories, toilets, flush valves, sinks, water heaters, drinking fountains, domestic water heaters and boilers, garbage disposals, backflow devices, valves and water meters.
Assist contractors in major emergency utility repair and performs other work as directed. Being a successful member of our team does not just take technical skills, it takes a passion and instinct for caring to change lives and strengthen teams.
Essential Job Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
- Arrive at jobsite at scheduled time and / or locations as dispatched
- Able to obtain a boilers license.
- Emergency on-call for larger issues and needed support.
- Relocate from one jobsite to another jobsite as dispatched during the workday
- Follow instructions from supervisor carry out in timely manner
- Report problems with company tools or vehicle promptly
- Maintain professional appearance and attitude at all times
- Demonstrated knowledge of piping design and flow
- Demonstrated knowledge of fixture installation
- Demonstrated knowledge of service tools and testing devices
- Demonstrated brazing skills
- Demonstrated customer service skills
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
- Demonstrate willingness to invest in tools used in the service of Plumbing equipment
- Work from 28’ extension ladder and 12’ step ladder
- Ability to operate power and hand tools safely
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 lbs on occasion
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions as given
- Demonstrate commitment to developing customer service skills
- Willingness to invest time in training seminars and classes
- Demonstrate mechanical aptitude
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to get from one job site to the other, throughout the Twin Cities.
- Two (2) years of practical plumbing experience or a combination of education and experience
- Ability to attend and pass company paid certification
Tools
Tools and equipment listed are representative of those typically used; other tools and equipment may be used as needed. Use of cleaning products and equipment such as vacuum cleaners, brooms and mops are required.
Additionally, employee may use snow removal equipment such as shovels and / or snow blowers. You will need to supply and use your own daily tools as needed.
