Purpose and Scope

Uses fundamental knowledge of accounting principles and procedures to perform a wide variety of accounting functions in assigned area.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform bank to general ledger transaction matching and bank account reconciliations on a weekly / monthly basis
  • Prepare various reports for daily, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.
  • Perform balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Prepare schedules for internal and external financial audits.
  • Prepare journal entries.
  • Maintain internal financial and accounting controls.
  • Maintain financial records and ensure financial transactions are properly recorded
  • Prepare daily invoices.
  • Fixed asset accounting, including but not limited to : depreciation calculation, tracking of capital project costs, audits, verbal and written communications with asset custodians, assisting in the preparation of the capital budget.
  • Communicate with co-workers, management, vendors and others in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Research transactions and other issues within the system to either resolve or get assistance from the managers in the department to resolve.
  • Assist with maintaining department files.
  • Perform various other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Good fundamental knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Knowledge of computerized accounting software, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel and all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Skill in effective oral and written communication.
  • Skill in effective organization and ability to pay attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
  • Experience in a professional accounting position preferred.
