The Engineering Technician's responsibilities involve performing basic tests and experiments for process engineering.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The employee shall be knowledgeable of and perform his or her job in accordance with corporate policies and procedures.
The employee shall understand the metrics that apply to his or her job and understand how they contribute to the stated objectives
- The employee shall follow proper Electro Static Discharge (ESD) procedures at all times and be knowledgeable of and perform job in accordance with proper material handling procedures and guidelines
- Support the engineering team in the design, development, and implementation of methods, policies, and procedures for processing and manufacturing customer products to industry accepted or customer specified standards and requirements
- Collect and analyze data
- Recommend corrective action for procedural, product, process, or design deficiencies
- Works with the manufacturing, test, and quality personnel to ensure that effective manufacturing, test, and inspection procedures and processes are implemented and maintained
- Recommend equipment and processes necessary to manufacture products in compliance with customer specified requirements
- Interpret and explain work instructions, specifications, and the use of manufacturing equipment, tools, fixtures, jigs, etc.
- Assist with the resolving of technical problems
- Confer with technical personnel and supervisors on reported assembly issues and problems
In addition to above skills a successful candidate will :
Be able to run, troubleshoot, make program adjustments, and create programs and recipes for the following equipment and processes :
- AOI (Automated Optical Inspection)
- AXI (Automated X-ray Inspection)
- Selective Solder
- Wave
- SMT Pick and Place equipment
- SMT Screen Printers
- SMT Reflow Ovens - thermal profiling
- SPI (Solder Paste Inspection)
- Laser Marking equipment
- Conformal Coat equipment
Use real time inspection and test data to improve process performance.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- IPC-610 / J-STD-001 knowledge or experience
- Standard test / troubleshooting / diagnosis equipment experience
- Ability to make decisions quickly and resolve issues
- Self-motivated to learn and progress and help production
- High school or GED
- Understanding of acceptable rework methods and standards
- Strong working knowledge in MS Office Suite (Advanced Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc)
- Strong customer service focus and strong teaming skills
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills (including the ability to write reports, business correspondence, policies and procedure manuals - if applicable)
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
- Be flexible, adaptable, able and willing to modify activities and direction with an ever-changing business environment
