Job Description
Summary
Transports employees, students and visitors to MUSC and areas within assigned areas of operations. Boards and discharges passengers with care and consideration in a safe and efficient manner.
Monitor vehicle performance on the road and immediately isolate and remedy issues that are within the normal scope of a vehicle operator's responsibility.
Performs duties such as substituting for other drivers in all aspects of Fleet Operations, on-demand transports, out-of-town travels (day trips), patient transports to MUSC and non-MUSC facilities and transports with the Clinical Outreach Transportation Services.
Responsible for the fueling and cleaning of the vehicle; mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, and washing. Performs operator's pre / post vehicle inspections and adds fluids as needed.
Performed in all weather conditions consistent with safety.
Maintains administrative and operational logs including but not limited to, inspection forms, mileage logs, passenger counts, accidents / incident reports, and regular updates on mandatory training requirements.
Effectively communicate with the dispatch cell. Drivers are required to check in with the dispatch at the beginning and end of their assigned shift.
During calls, dispatch should be updated as drivers accomplish pre- arranged milestones. When dispatched on a call, drivers are required to take guidance from the dispatch cell.

Job Description
Operates heavy equipment or motor vehicles and performs maintenance on them. Transports visitors, state employees, officials, patients or supplies.
Performs manual labor incidental to the operation of assigned vehicles or equipment. Performs or supervises the maintenance of vehicles, equipment or drawbridges.
Purchases equipment and supplies. Maintains records of repair costs, parts, labor, fuel and mileage. Maintains insurance records and submits the insurance claims.
Operates heavy equipment in the construction of highways.

Job Description
One year experience in the operation or maintenance of heavy equipment, motorized vehicles or machinery that is directly related to the area of employment.
Some positions require a valid driver's license and / or commerical driver's license.
