This is a fulltime position with Los AngelesUnified School District. The EMS Supervisor will actas the subject matter expert in Energy Management Systems (EMS).
This individual will oversee the installation turnover and use ofour EMS controls systems. The EMS Supervisor will work with theLAUSD Technical Quality Support Team (TQST) and use the EMS toencourage preventative maintenance identify potential energyconservation measures and suggest facility improvements.
Responsibilities
- Perform HVAC Controls Designreviews
- Perform HVAC Controls Submittalreviews
- Review utility data and energy usage toidentify schools for recommissioning and retrocommissioning
- Review EMS energy data and alarmsto identify no cost / lowcost energy conservationmeasures
- Review EMS energy data and alarms toidentify preventive maintenance measures
- Reviewnewly turned over schools energy usage versus benchmarks in designto verify performance
- Assist in updatingcontrols specifications to meet new federal state or localcodes / standards
- Assist with implementingrequirements to allow for integration of other controls systems(LightingIrrigation PV) with EMS
- Assist increation of district standard control sequences ofoperations
- Assist with drafting Controls shopdrawings and sequences of operations for small controls upgradeprojects
- Review of the feasibility of retrocommissioning measures
- Assist in managingInHouse Commissioning Projects
- Performs otherduties as assigned
Required Experience :
- Minimum of five (5) yearsprofessional experience in building controls or a relatedfield.
- Experience with programmingand controls databasemanagement
- Comprehensiveunderstanding of computer networking principles includingconfiguration maintenance andtroubleshooting.
- Competent knowledge andproficiency with HVAC operations within afacility
- Experience in creating andadjusting sequences of operations shop drawings and project specifications
Required Education :
- Graduation from a recognized collegeor university with a bachelors or associate degree in engineering(mechanical computer science electrical information technology)
- Twoyear technical degree in HVACElectronicsrelated studies with additional 2 years of experience tocompensate for education on a yearforyearbasis
