Since 1973, Jubilee has worked to provide high quality affordable housing and holistic support to those experiencing persistent economic hardship in the Adams Morgan and Columbia Heights neighborhoods of Washington D.

C. Jubilee operates 11 properties totaling 465 units of affordable housing, with another four properties and 120 units under development, and offers robust programming for residents and community members pursuing life goals.

Jubilee Housing is an innovator in financing and social services for affordable housing communities in the heart of the Nation’s Capital.

Jubilee’s model of Justice Housing is affordable to those with the fewest financial assets, located in neighborhoods where resources such as good schools, grocery stores, and public transportation are readily accessible, and near services that support residents as they pursue educational and career attainment.

Position Description

Under direction of the Director of Resident Services, the Resident Services coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, facilitating and implementing individualized support, onsite programs, workshops and activities that serve a diverse community of residents that call Jubilee Housing home.

Specific Duties

  • Maintain regular contact with residents as assigned based on individual or household needs.
  • Work with residents to set goals, develop plans, make referrals and needed connections to community providers and resources, along with follow through to ensure successful connections.
  • Provide professional individual service coordination and crisis intervention for residents in need.
  • Work collaboratively with onsite teams (such as Property Management and Youth Services) and onsite providers (such as Ounce of Care, Martha’s Table, Jubilee Jumpstart) in wraparound service delivery needs for residents.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed documentation of work with residents as well as attendance for events.
  • Provide support during drop-in, walk-in hours offered to residents.
  • Participate in outreach to residents with mailings, flyers, door to door, postings in all Jubilee buildings, etc.
  • Support resident engagement program planning and delivery.
  • Lead group events and workshops for residents.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or related field preferred (at least 3 years of direct service coordinator experience in an affordable housing setting may substitute for education).
  • At least 1 year of Human Services related experience working with individuals directly in a community-based setting or organization required.
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule for events that may occur during evening or weekend hours, in order to enhance resident access to events.

Typical daily schedule will be 9am-5pm on weekdays.

  • Bilingual Spanish English a plus.
  • Experience with resource navigation and individual service plans preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to support the organization’s mission and philosophy, and demonstrate sensitivity to cultural diversity and organizational harmony.
  • Must be proficient in computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, Microsoft Office applications, calendar, and email and / or database software necessary to perform work assignments.
  • Strong documentation skills, decision making, customer service, conflict resolution skills, people management and integrity.
  • Experience with partner development and volunteer recruitment.
  • Valid Driver’s license and willingness to transport residents in company vehicle.

Hybrid Work Model

Three-day, onsite hybrid work schedule required; agreed upon schedule with manager.
