The core mission of the Supply Chain Quality Development Engineer (SQDE) organization is to assure that supplied parts / services meet Moog quality requirements.

The Lead, Level IV engineer performs Supplier and Quality Engineering tasks of the highest scope and complexity. Frequently interacts with internal and external customers and suppliers dealing with Supply Chain and Supplier Development.

The SQE devised new approaches for problems encountered. From engineering drawing changes, quality non-conformance issues, multidisciplined in engineering, applies initiative to research historical part and / or supplier technical issues to project manage long-term issues for resolution, knowledgeable in AS9100, and support both Moog and customer (internal and external).

Key tasks may include, but not limited to design, manufacturing, special processing, and inspection processes support. Development and implementation of supplier and customer projects, develop, lead, present initiatives, improve Moog products, deliver quality, and use advanced analytical approach to solve supply chain adversity.

To be considered for Supplier Quality Engineer, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you :

  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Technology degree with 10 years related experience or MS / MA degree with 8 years related experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience with problem solving and quality tools such as Lean (6-Sigma Green / Black Belt), Zero-defects, PPAP, 5-Why, Ishikawa, RCCA, 8D, or DMAIC.
  • Specialist technical experience, examples manufacturing, metallurgy, industrial chemistry, processing knowledge, metrology, gears, GD&T, machining, electrical components.
  • Experience with supplier improvement efforts, with organization, seeking input for best practices using customer communication and management.
  • Advanced problem solving, data driven for optimal analytical reporting and understanding of areas for improvement, support development and manage department KPIs.
  • Proven experience qualifications, skills and leading successful projects providing support and guidance for customer and teammates.
  • AS9100 Lead Auditor Training, Certified Preferred.

As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for :

  • Support supplier improvement efforts with high degree of organization, seeking input for best practices, presentation, customer communication and management.
  • Independently manages and / or support supplier correlation, SNs, NCs / CAs for suppliers, including CoPQ, 5-Why, 8D, Gage R&R, PPAP, PRA management for supplier caused NOEs to Moog customers.
  • Frequently introduce, deploy industry best practices and challenges for continuous improvement of team and quality.
  • New supplier and / or product introduction to qualify initiatives, capacity plan, and more.
  • Agile, participates in multiple team / s and initiatives, takes on stretch assignments.
  • Demonstrates effective and clear written and verbal communication.
  • Leading people and projects.
  • Positively effecting team involvement / influence.
  • Number of suppliers directly managed or influenced : Greater than 30.
  • Travel Time 15-20%

The base pay range for this opportunity is $83,000 $150,000 The base salary represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location.

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed are just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
