Job Description

The Opportunity :

MaineGeneral Health offers an exciting opportunity for you to join our team of Patient Access Representative Professionals.

The Work :

  • Perform financial clearance, registration, and clerical duties associated with point-of-service (POS) services.
  • Meet with patients or their caregivers to exchange necessary information and documentation, explain processes, and address any concerns or questions.
  • Communicate with unit staff and other appropriate personnel to exchange necessary information and determine placement.
  • Verify insurance benefits, obtain precertification / authorization, and ensure verification of medical necessity as necessary.

Determine and accept required payments, including co-pays, deductibles, and coinsurance, or refer to financial counselors for follow-up.

Ensure that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered into the registration system with timeliness and accuracy.

You Have :

  • Relevant customer service experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • 1 year of patient registration, scheduling, or other clerical / customer service experience in a medical office setting preferred.
  • Ability to keyboard accurately and quickly.
