Position Overview :

The Director of Site Selection will be a key driver in identifying, evaluating, and acquiring prime land for build-for-rent multifamily development projects.

This leadership role requires a seasoned real estate professional with expertise in multifamily development, market analysis, negotiation, and relationship management.

The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing and securing land that aligns with the company’s strategic growth objectives, ensuring the long-term success of our development pipeline.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Market Analysis
  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify emerging opportunities and trends in land acquisition.
  • Evaluate demographic, economic, and zoning data to assess the viability and risks associated with potential acquisitions.
  • Site Identification
  • Proactively identify and assess land parcels that meet the company’s strategic objectives for multifamily development.
  • Collaborate with internal teams architects, engineers, legal professionals to evaluate site suitability and alignment with development goals.
  • Due Diligence
  • Lead the coordination of due diligence processes, including environmental assessments, zoning reviews, and title investigations.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements, working closely with development and finance teams throughout the acquisition process.
  • Negotiation & Deal Structuring
  • Negotiate favorable acquisition terms with landowners, brokers, and developers to maximize value.
  • Work closely with the site selection and finance teams to structure deals that align with the company’s financial targets and risk tolerance.
  • Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including landowners, brokers, and industry professionals.
  • Represent the company at negotiations, meetings, and industry events to reinforce its presence and reputation in the real estate community.
  • Financial Analysis
  • Develop and refine financial models to assess the feasibility and profitability of land acquisitions.
  • Provide insights on pricing strategies and financial terms during negotiations and deal structuring.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in land acquisition and real estate development, particularly in multifamily projects.
  • Strong understanding of market trends, zoning regulations, and land use policies.
  • Expertise in financial analysis and modeling to drive informed decision-making.
  • Proven track record of successful negotiations and deal structuring.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, working across multiple teams and projects.
