Rock-It Cargo is the premier freight forwarder for all live events and works hand-in-hand with clients to make the greatest shows and events possible across the world.
The full-time Ocean Freight Agent will work from our Atlanta, GA (30349) office, and assist the Rock-It Cargo Central Operations team with arranging international ocean transportation for a variety of live performance touring projects.
You will be instrumental in the success of our clients’ events. The Operations Agent will strategically identify & book the best routes for each project, prepare and review necessary documentation for the shipments, manage key deadlines to keep projects on track, and cultivate lasting client and vendor relationships.
In this role, you will work side-by-side with seasoned operations leaders to manage time-sensitive, fragile, and complex ocean freight shipments and projects.
Responsibilities :
- Coordinate all aspects of export and import shipment process, including FCL & LCL bookings, trucking, documentation, etc.
- Comply with US and foreign trade regulations
- Receive shipment requests from shippers and / or overseas agents
- Quoting & rate negotiations
- Coordinate bookings and pick-ups with carriers
- Ocean Export Documentation / AES Filings
- Ocean Import ISF reporting, as necessary
- Track and trace international cargo / ensure on-time loading and departure, updating customers accordingly
- Invoice customers accurately and timely
- Other duties related to client projects, as assigned
Qualifications :
- 5+ years of experience in International Ocean Freight Forwarding
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry or military experience
- Experience in Quoting & Rate Negotiations, Bookings, FCL and LCL Dispatch, AES Filings and Export / Import Documentation
- An excellent strategic mind the ideal candidate will be able to expertly prioritize competing responsibilities, meticulously organize multiple complex projects, apply a sharp attention to detail to all work, and handle time-sensitive issues while remaining cool under pressure
- Exceptional customer service & vendor relationship management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) including comfort with basic Excel functions, and a general ability to learn new software programs quickly
- Flexibility to travel and participate in on-call rotations
- Dependable and self-motivated, must be a team player
- Ability to pass a security background check
