Job Summary
We are seeking a self-motivated Legal Services Coordinator to support a team of attorneys. As part of Compass' Legal Operations team, the successful candidate’s primary job duties will be to ensure smooth running and effective case management of the Company’s pre-litigation matters.
The main practice area is employment law. You will provide a broad spectrum of legal administrative services related to pre-litigation matters and some employment compliance matters.
Responsibilities :
- Communicate with clients and gather necessary documents and information to begin building a case.
- Provide administrative support to the team to enhance office effectiveness.
- Communicate with outside counsels for pre-litigation matters and employee immigration matters.
- Provide workflow and project support for our Legal Employment Compliance Team.
- Prepare and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and presentations with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Maintain electronic and physical filing systems, ensuring documents are organized and easily accessible.
- Serve as a point of contact for clients, attorneys, and other stakeholders, providing timely responses to inquiries and facilitating communication as needed.
- Draft and edit emails, letters, and other correspondence on behalf of legal staff, always maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
- Assist with document production, distribution, and management, including drafting, revising, and formatting legal agreements and responses.
- Assist in the coordination and execution of special projects and initiatives within the legal operations team, collaborating with team members to meet deadlines and deliverables.
- Conduct research and gather information to support legal matters and other departmental activities as assigned.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree, or certification as legal assistant.
- Experience working with multiple lawyers simultaneously.
- Strong organizational and follow-through skills, orderly and detail-oriented with ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects from stakeholders simultaneously with accuracy and efficiency while staying focused and calm under pressure.
- Experience with Legal Tracker or other matter management and workflow tools.
- Experience working in a fast-paced legal environment.
- Ability to work independently, take responsibility, take initiative, problem-solve using sound judgment, and handle confidential and sensitive information.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
