About the Position
The Business Systems Analyst performs application support at tier two and three levels both independently and with assistance from other information technology (IT) professionals of systems, including web servers, file / print services, and Active Directory, in addition to the storage utilized by these systems.
You will work with and maintain Active Directory accounts, security groups, group policies, server-based shared directories, and user permissions.
This person provides on-call support based on a rotation and applies necessary patches during the established patch window that occurs once a month on a weekend.
Installs, configures, monitors, troubleshoots, and maintains server-class software and hardware, including file servers and load-balanced applications.
With limited supervision, installs, configures, and supports various line-of-business applications. Interfaces with appropriate individuals to coordinate installations and maintenance of client-server applications.
You will maintain a backup system and ensure backups are successfully completed, periodically tested, and are in compliance with best practices.
Restore files, directories, objects, complete servers, etc., from backups as needed. Works with outside contracted vendors for additional hardware and software support.
Works with Network Engineers to ensure server room resources connect to the Enterprise network. Makes critical decisions involving the use of limited resources in an effort to repair and restore services during system interruptions and outages.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues and participate in a 24 x 7 on-call rotation as required.

We Require
- Five (5) years' experience administering, configuring, managing, installing, and troubleshooting VMware, PowerShell, AWS, Azure, Windows Server 2016 / 2019 / 2022 operating systems, IIS Web Applications, Active Directory, and SAN (Storage Area Network) systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, closely related field, or a technology related discipline.
- A combination of post-secondary education and / or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis

- Monitors network resources, usage, and performance. Monitor assigned systems and applications to maintain performance
- Takes proactive steps to improve performance when necessary
- Escalates issues to management
- Creates and documents policies and procedures, installation instructions, configuration guides, and other relevant documentation as needed to help maintain a knowledge base for the team
- Participates in technical on-call services and off hours work when required
Working Conditions
Mostly office setting in high volume, fast-paced environment. Requires long periods of sitting while completing computer activities.
Ability to lift boxes up to 25 pounds and carry, push, or pull up a distance of 100 feet. Job requires handling interruptions, time pressures, frequently changing tasks, high volume of work, and unscheduled tasks.
The job requires working in a team environment, isolation, public contact, and / or close physical proximity with others.
The job requires being thorough in completing work tasks and giving attention to detail, honest and ethical, reliable, responsible, and dependable in fulfilling obligations.
May require travel to and from job-related locations during the course of a scheduled workday, subject to County policies regarding the use of County vehicles and / or private vehicles used on County business.
