About the Job :
As a Shop Supervisor, your primary role is to manage the day-to-day operations of the shop. This includes supervising staff, assigning duties, and ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
This position manage a team of technicians, ensuring that all equipment is serviced, maintained, and repaired in accordance with safety regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
Your leadership will be key in fostering a positive work environment, training, and developing team members, and ensuring the safety of employees.
Work Schedule :
- Monday through Friday
- Shift hours 7 : 00am 5 : 00pm
- Weekend work and / or overtime may be required.
In This Role, You Will :
- Manage a team of equipment maintenance technicians, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Plans the work and determines the techniques to be used to accomplish the duties daily.
- Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and professionalism among maintenance staff.
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members, ensuring efficient and effective maintenance practices.
- Manage and assign tasks, and personnel, to maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Ensures adherence to OSHA, DOT and AST regulations and Company safety policies within the department.
- Conducts Annual Performance Evaluations and merit increase requests for staff
- Sets the labor schedules and tracks labor hours and staff needed to accomplish the workload on a daily basis.
- Completes onboarding process with new hires and provides them with job duty training.
- Provides expert advice to management regarding the status of the day-to-day operations of the maintenance shop.
- Responsible for work performance and works with Human Resources on disciplinary action needed for those not meeting the required performance.
- Address any issues or concerns raised by warehouse staff and resolve conflicts in a timely and professional manner.
- Continuously seek opportunities to optimize warehouse operations and reduce costs while maintaining service levels.
- Able to complete task efficiently and timely
- Demonstrate ability to maintain good attendance
- Assists the Terminal Manager with planning and controlling the shop budget.

Required :
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
- Proven experience, (5+ years), in equipment maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize competing demands.
- Strong computer literacy required including Microsoft Office skills.
- Knowledge of Federal, State, OHSA, EPA and DOT regulations is required.
- Valid Drivers’ License is required, Class A CDL is preferred.
- Must be 18 or older.
