ICF is seeking an entry-level Research Assistant - Human Capital / Learning professional to support a large variety of human capital and training projects to include helping Federal clients optimize their workforce and enhance employee performance.
They will collaborate with clients to develop and implement effective human capital strategies, training programs, and organizational development initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have an interest in federal consulting, human capital, and employee learning. The individual needs to be a self-starter who has the initiative to research topics and solve problems with limited oversight.
Selected individual may work remotely from MD, VA, or DC, but will be required to travel within the DMV area for occasional client meetings.
They will work with a team to :
- Work as part of multiple small consulting teams under the supervision of Project Managers.
- Edit and conduct thorough quality assurance checks of all materials to ensure they are of the free of errors and meet the highest standards for professional deliverables.
- Review and summarize relevant literature and extract important concepts to inform client project needs.
- Participate in data collection and analysis efforts (e.g., interviews, focus groups, pilot tests) to better understand our clients, their organizations, and their needs.
- Synthesize data and summarize it in a compelling and easy-to-understand manner for use in presentations, learning materials, and reports.
- Support training development in a variety of modalities.
- Write sections of reports, guidebooks, and training materials, tailoring style and content for different target audiences.
Basic Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Psychology, Sociology, or Business preferred
Preferred Skills / Experience :
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook)
Ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, team environment with strict deadlines
Strong communication skills (oral and written), including ability to present to and interact with clients
Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems, and recommend solutions
Superior attention to detail in all elements of work
Ability to take initiative and ownership with minimal direction from senior staff
Interest in learning the foundations of human capital, training, and applied workforce and organizational research
Interest in helping clients solve problems, ideally with a human centered design approach
Ability to explain complex technical concepts in an easily understandable written format
