About the Job
A leading company in the offshore wind industry is seeking a Senior Cost Estimator. This position is based in Hoboken and requires physical presence in the office four days a week.
As a Senior Cost Estimator, your primary responsibility is to analyze, collate, and estimate the costs involved in large offshore wind construction projects.
You will evaluate all relevant factors including materials, labor, subcontracts, equipment, overheads, and contingencies to provide accurate cost assessments to support tendering and commercial activities.
Key Responsibilities :
- Analyze project requirements by reviewing tender documentation, specifications, and other materials to understand the scope and requirements.
- Gather data on materials, labor rates, equipment, and other relevant factors from colleagues, suppliers, subcontractors, and historical information.
- Develop and utilize specialized software and / or calculation models to estimate all costs accurately.
- Assess risks by identifying potential risks and uncertainties with colleagues that could affect the project duration or cost, and incorporate contingency measures into the calculation model.
- Collaborate with project and tender managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to refine project requirements and ensure accurate cost projections.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, reports, and presentations for internal review and client presentations.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, new technologies, and feedback from executed projects to enhance the cost estimation process and accuracy.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in construction, management, engineering, finance, or a related field.
- Certification from a relevant professional organization is desirable but not mandatory.
- Proven experience in cost estimation for complex projects, preferably in the offshore industry.
- Knowledge of industry regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using calculation software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines.
- Excellent English skills, both written and spoken. Dutch or French is also desirable, but not mandatory. Any additional languages are a benefit.
