The Admission Recruiter is a naturally persuasive, creative problem solver who thrives in an upbeat environment with non-standard and varied working hours.

The recruiter is a self-motivated, enthusiastic, goal-oriented individual with superior presentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills and will have demonstrated ability to follow direction, problem solve, manage multiple priorities, and meet goals.

This is a sales-like admissions and prospect management role with responsibilities including managing and growing a recruitment territory in an environment where recruiters are responsible for reaching enrollment and net revenue goals assigned to them.

Daily responsibilities include communication with a large number of prospective students and their families through heavy phone outreach.

Personal e-mails, texts, notes, individual appointments, and group presentations are also expected. This position will involve the planning of prospective student recruitment strategies, extensive outreach, and travel.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Manage and grow a recruitment territory in an environment where recruiters are responsible for reaching enrollment and assigned net revenue goals
  • Daily responsibilities include communication with a large number of prospective students through heavy phone outreach;

personal e-mails, notes, individual appointments, and group presentations are also expected; as well as the planning of prospective student recruitment activities, extensive outreach, and travel

  • Includes evening and weekend work, extensive phone use and telemarketing, travel, and directive counseling for individuals and groups
  • Lead group information sessions and also meet one-on-one with parents and prospective students to provide information and assist in the application and financial planning processes; give campus tours
  • Must become knowledgeable about all aspects of Stetson University including academic programs, campus events and activities, orientation, athletics, housing, financial aid, billing, college policy, and important dates
  • Through heavy use of outgoing contacts via phone, email, IM, etc., cultivate, engage, grade, persuade, and close prospective students;

always qualify and document conversations within CRM and generate next steps (application, enrollment deposit, FAFSA, housing application, registration, retention, etc.)

  • Record and code all interactions within the CRM Technolutions SLATE
  • Determine the best next contact for each of the hot prospects in the territory; this involves regular use of the arsenal, which comprises both printed and web information collected for this purpose and members of the campus community - i.

e., faculty, alumni, current students, coaches, and parents of current students

  • Review files for acceptance and present admission recommendation to admissions committee; review files for scholarship
  • After receipt of application materials, determine and inform students of acceptance and award of scholarships
  • Make financial aid packaging / depth sounding calls
  • Research, plan, and execute fall and spring travel for recruitment, by evaluating previous years' productivity; coordinate travel plans with college and guidance counselors;

meet with prospective students at educational fairs to inform them about the college, i.e. application process, scholarships, financial aid, majors, campus activities and on-campus housing

  • Cultivate relationships with alumni, guidance counselors, and other constituents in the territory to assist with the recruitment process and other duties as assigned
  • Extensive travel by air and automobile, both in and out of state; the ability to travel extensively; willingness to fly extensively
  • Perform other site and position specific functions as assigned

extended periods of time at a keyboard; perceptual demands for color, sound, form, and depth; occasional and, at times, frequent hours outside the normal University schedule

  • Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication skills, producing and presenting information in a concise and compelling manner
  • Ability to work effectively in an entrepreneurial environment committed to high standards of performance and ambitious goals for growth and institutional development
  • Ability to lead group information sessions, one-on-one meetings and give campus tours
  • Proven ability to work effectively as a member of a team and foster collegial relationships with diverse constituencies, such as faculty, students, alumnae, and staff
  • Strong computer skills and experience with database management
  • Demonstrated competency in data collection and analysis relevant to interpreting market trends, competition, and admissions and enrollment statistics
  • Must be able to work varied hours : regular hours, nights, weekends, and some holidays

Required Experience

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university required (education and / or experience)

Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record as determined by the University’s auto insurance carrier.

  • Experience in recruitment, sales, marketing, retail, and other business-like environments
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment where hard work, resourcefulness, and fresh ideas are prized, along with collaboration, teamwork, and good humor
  • Well-organized, able to manage multiple priorities, and exhibit grace under pressure
  • Must become knowledgeable about all aspects of Stetson University including academic programs, campus events and activities, orientation, athletics, housing, financial aid, billing, college policy, and important dates
  • A high energy level and ability and willingness to travel extensively
  • Knowledge of higher education, and the college admissions process
  • Fluency in Spanish language desired

Work Environment : The Enrollment Management division is in an open-aired work environment with about 20-30 employees working at the same time.

Noise level can be high at times, during meetings, and calls. Office space is inside, but Admissions events, and some travel require work to be done outside.

This is an on-site position on the DeLand campus, where being in the office to assist families and team members is necessary.
