We are currently seeking a Section 179D Energy Modeler to join our Tangible Asset Incentive Services team to help grow our Energy Practice.
Our Tangible Asset Incentive Services team is a hybrid of tax, accounting, construction estimating, and energy modeling that provides real estate owners, investors, and designers with significant tax savings opportunities.
An energy modeler will use software to construct commercial building energy models to evaluate the energy performance of buildings compared against industry standards.

Responsibilities :
- Analyze potential projects and whether energy efficiency tax incentives are appropriate
- Conduct building operation energy performance simulations utilizing industry standard software
- Analyze drawings, specifications, field-notes, and photographs to create 3-D models of existing buildings
- Understand complex building science and how the performance of building components is intricately related, including HVAC, electrical, and building envelope systems
- Manages multiple engagements / projects
- Assists with other construction and real estate tax incentives, such as cost segregation
- Conducts onsite visits to support real estate property studies
- Communicates project status with internal and external clientele; Provides timely, high-quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations
- Analyzes information and appropriately identifies technical issues; manages project budgets
- Reviews junior members’ work product; mentors and develops junior team members; assists in hiring, training, and mentoring of staff
- Adheres to the highest degree of professional standards and strict client confidentiality
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree required; with an emphasis in engineering or related field preferred
- Experience with energy modeling software preferred
- Experience with Tax Code Section 179D energy modeling preferred
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) preferred
- Ability to identify technical issues, analyze information and report findings to the client
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
- Ability to travel as needed, approximately 20%
