Essential Duties & Functions
- Manage all financial reporting functions supporting preparation, review and compliance of financial statements on a GAAP and statutory basis for filings with SEC, insurance department statutory reporting and foreign jurisdictions.
- Prepare comparative analyses of results for review by Senior Management and Board of Directors.
- Coordinate and manage the external audit process and liaise with auditors, regulators and other external stakeholders
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of accounting systems, processes, and internal controls and implement improvements as needed
- Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting staff and ensure they have the necessary skills and resources to perform their duties
- Analyze and interpret financial data and trends and provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior management and other departments
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process and assist with financial planning and analysis
- Advise on financial analyses and decision-making regarding capital investments, pricing, contract negotiations, significant costs, benchmarks, and other matters with management and financial team.
- Manage the company's financial accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems.
- Research and stay updated on accounting standards, rules, and regulations and assess their impact on the company's financial reporting and operations
- Perform other duties as assigned by the CFO or senior management
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's preferred).
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) license required.
- 10+ years of experience in a senior accounting or financial management role.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience with corporate governance, financial risk management, and financial reporting.
- Excellent management and supervisory skills.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
