Responsibilities

• Providing direct operational support and management in the design, implementation, and evaluation of research data systems for health behavior studies led by faculty and ATN investigators.
• Helping manage IDHI data systems by designing and monitoring new data systems and workflows (using REDCap, Qualtrics, Excel, etc.

providing technical support to study teams, and staying up to date on best-practices and innovations in data management and storage.

• Development and management of data / information collection systems both qualitative and quantitative.
• Creating evaluation instruments and standard operating procedures and authoring weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly reports (using Stata or other software) depending on specific study information needs.
• Data / information quality control, cleaning, and analysis.
• Project planning and administration.
• Facilitating and monitoring recruitment, enrollment, and retention of study participants.
• Training / supervision of research assistants, students, and / or temporary employees.
• Identifying, evaluating, and modifying data collection methodologies.
• Assisting with manuscripts, conference presentations, and research grant applications; and coordinating data / information sharing procedures.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in a related field; or a high school diploma / equivalent and experience equal to six years.

Note : post-high school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of data collection and management principles, experience creating and maintaining data systems, and knowledge of effective data analysis and visualization strategies and trends.
• Proficiency in data collection, management, and analysis tools such as REDCap, Qualtrics, Stata, NVivo.
• Candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written which are required for interacting with a wide-range of stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and complete assignments independently with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work well with others and collaboratively as a team.
• Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and Power Point.
• Master’s degree in a related field.
• Prior experience conducting research or programing focused on HIV prevention and engagement in care and / or working collaboratively with community-based organizations.
• Interest in the development and evaluation of technology-based research interventions (e.g., the use of smartphone, social media, internet) to improve health and wellness.
• Experience working with data management systems, specifically in an academic / research setting.
• Experience reviewing and analyzing survey results, preparing recommendations, and reporting findings.
• Ability to develop timelines and take guidance from supervisor to develop scopes of work.

Established in 2022, the Institute on Digital Health and Innovation (IDHI) within the Florida State University College of Nursing promotes individual health, public health, and health equity through collaborative and synergistic partnerships for the development, evaluation, and dissemination of digital health tools, technologies, and innovations.

The mission of IDHI is to advance digital health science, technologies, and tools focused on solving real world needs of patients, providers, and populations through research, training, and innovation to maximize health and eliminate health inequities.

Additionally, IDHI co-leads the Adolescent Medicine Trials Network for HIV Interventions (ATN) a multicenter research network conducting transformative research that addresses the HIV prevention and care continuum for adolescents and young adults in the US.

The Statistical and Data Management Core (SDMC) within the ATN provides expertise in study design, statistical analysis, data collection, and data management to execute the ATN’s research portfolio.

Working in collaboration with Principal Investigators, Study Managers, site staff, and other key stakeholders, the SDMC provides comprehensive data management and analyses for all network clinical studies;

leadership; and services for regulatory aspects, biostatistics, study design analysis, interpretation, and publication or results.

The Research Data Manager will operate as a member of the ATN, SDMC, and IDHI teams by providing direct operational support and management in the design, implementation, and evaluation of research data systems for health behavior studies led by faculty and ATN investigators.
