About Crane Center for Transgender Surgery

The Crane Center is a world-renowned Transgender surgical practice, with locations in Greenbrae, California, Boulder, Colorado, and Austin, Texas.

We have eight highly specialized surgeons and a multidisciplinary clinical team which allows us to offer all aspects of gender-affirming surgery.

About the Role

The Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) is a clinically trained, lived-experience resource, guiding patients and caregivers through the Crane Center for Transgender Surgery surgical process.

The PCC is responsible for patient retention, and the constant contact for both new and established patients throughout the course of their treatment with the Crane Center for Transgender Surgery.

The Patient Care Coordinator will serve as the liaison between the clinical team, the administrative support services team, and the patient.

The Patient Care Coordinator will guide the patient and family member throughout their relationship with the Crane Center for Transgender Surgery, ensuring an overall exceptional experience.

The Patient Care Coordinator reports to the Director, Operations. This position will cross collaborate with team members of various departments and patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with New Patient Registration team to ensure acquisition.
  • Review and Respond to Outreach Emails and provide ongoing support via phone, or email.
  • Solicits referrals from patients, creating excitement for sharing a positive experience with friends and family.
  • Orients and educates patients and their families to practice and provides contact information and assists patients in navigating through the patient experience.
  • Provides educational information, under the direction of PA or Medical Provider, related to treatments, procedures, medications, and continuing care requirements.
  • Addresses patient concerns and coordinates resolution with appropriate staff to ensure prompt attention, following through with patient until resolved.
  • Assist in monitoring patient charts and collaborate with clinical staff to ensure patient is progressing toward their surgery.
  • Provide support to the front office staff, as needed or directed.
  • Performs basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing.
  • General office skills including keyboarding, office computer software, filing, answering telephones, email, faxing and copying.
  • Assist during office visits, rooming patients, vital signs, taking medical histories, wound care, suture removal, preparing for exams etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Proficient with standard office equipment.
  • Must have recent clinic experience
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to work well as part of a team and independently
  • Must be organized, able to multitask and have excellent computer skills
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology
  • Experience with EMR
  • Experienced with MAC, Office 365 and other related product
  • Ability to speak, read and write in Spanish (preferred)

Education & Experience Required

  • Minimum requirements :
  • BA / BS degree or Associate"s Degree in a clinical field. A college degree can be substituted with a license / credentials in a related field, or years of experience in a medical practice / hospital.
  • Education / Experience Required
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must have current clinical certification in either CMA, CNA, PCT, EMT, or similar
  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA), preferred
  • Must have current clinical certification in either CMA, CNA, PCT, EMT, or similar
  • 2 years medical experience preferred
  • 2 years experience in a medical related field required

Work Location & Hours

  • Austin, TX
  • This is a full time position
  • Normal work hours will be Monday - Friday 8 : 00 am to 4 : 30 pm
  • May be asked to work outside of normal work hours occasionally to meet the needs of patients in other locations

Other Requirements

Travel may be necessary to meet the needs of the business.

The pay range for this role is :

50,000 - 55,000 USD per year(CSSC)
