Position Summary
The Mission Advancement Officer’s primary responsibility is to help Gannon exceed fundraising goals through the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major donor gifts, focusing on high-level donors who have the capacity for multi-year commitments to fund comprehensive campaign priorities to support the University’s mission.
With a portfolio of 100-150 donors, the Mission Advancement Officer will design and develop solicitation strategies, identify gift opportunities that match donor interests, personally solicit and stewarding donors, and identify prospects and opportunities to cultivate a significant pipeline.
The ability to produce excellent written, oral, and digital presentations is a strong requirement for this position.
ESSENTIAL COMPONENTS
- Develop strategies for the qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of assigned prospects
- Connect with donors virtually and in person, traveling to assigned territories across the United States
- Develop individual donor strategies, along with materials, to renew and upgrade donor support for University priorities

- Participate in strategic planning sessions with University Advancement team members to create and implement comprehensive plans for prospects and existing donors
- Promote teamwork by sharing your talents and gifts to move the team forward
- Assist in the coordination and staffing of key virtual and in-person alumni events as needed by OCE
- Be visibly present on campus for key events and donor engagement opportunities
- Participate in Gannon Health and Wellness opportunities, community forums, and other programs offered to staff

Required Qualifications Education : Bachelor’s degree
Experience : Three to five years of dedicated fundraising experience, demonstrating skilled experiences securing major gifts for multiple organizational priorities
Demonstrate experiences working with corporations and foundations
Exhibit knowledge and experience securing and soliciting planned gifts Preferred Qualifications CFRE preference Physical Demands Must be able to meet the physical demands associated with the responsibilities of this position.
