Job Summary
The Safety Associate Department is one of the first points of contact for patients, visitors and employees for MVHS campuses.
A Safety Associate's role is to greet and screen everyone coming into the organization and guide and provide concierge services for patients and visitors.
- Under the direction of the Safety Associate Coordinator and the department director, the ideal candidate will have : exceptional customer service and communication skills;
- the ability to think strategically and use sound judgment to make decisions independently; the ability to resolve difficult and sensitive issues;
the ability to multi-task and work quickly in a complex and often busy environment; and the willingness to be flexible regarding assignments, per and during, each shift.
Core Job Responsibilities
- Consistently exhibits a highly professional, positive, and service oriented manner with patients, visitors, and employees in a complex and often challenging and busy environment
- Greets, screens, and provides exceptional concierge services to patients, visitors, and employees, including escorting or transporting patients and visitors by wheelchair to departments
- As a source of knowledge of MVHS facilities, department locations, services, and policies, effectively communicates information verbally, written and / or typed to patients, visitors, and employees
- Thinks strategically and uses sound judgment to independently make decisions and resolve difficult and sensitive issues and complaints
- Initiates and participates in policy and process improvements based on observations and experiences
- Proficiently uses Epic EMR, Microsoft Office computer programs and other electronic communication devices, programs, and platforms to obtain, record, organize and communicate information quickly and accurately
- Demonstrates strong teamwork with employees to provide exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and employees
- Is flexible in regard to location and duration of shift assignments and is consistently punctual for all assigned shifts
- Complies with all MVHS safety and risk management policies and procedures.
- Performs other job-related tasks delegated by the Safety Associate Coordinator and / or department director
Education / Experience Requirements
Required :
- High School diploma or GED
- 1 year minimum patient care experience and / or clinical customer service experience
Preferred :
- Associate's degree or higher in appropriate field
- 3 years or more patient care experience and / or clinical customer service experience
