Under broad supervision, responsible for achieving budgeted sales within assigned region or assigned account. Develops programs to achieve maximum sales volume consistent with sales projections.
Accounts are typically at the Company or national level and are moderately sophisticated in terms of category management.
Role typically requires between 3 and 5 years of experience.
Summary / Objective
The Sales & business development manager position is responsible for implementing programs targeted towards generating business in applications of ion exchange resins for North American customers by performing the following duties.
Essential Functions
- Identify new potential customers to meet our revenue objectives for sales of ion exchange resins and filters for applications of power generation, food and beverage, petrochemical, and water treatment.
- Manage existing accounts in Power generation in North America and identify new customers within this industry segment.
- Forecast sales and achieve set performance goals. Prepare periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
- Meet with existing and potential clients and maintain relationships, negotiating and closing deals.
- Attend industry trade shows, participate as an exhibitor and / or presenter when appropriate.
- Evaluate market research needs and oversee any market research projects that are undertaken in assigned territory.
- Continually put forth new product ideas based on market trends that can be proposed and potentially developed as R&D projects.
- Assist in developing strategic business plans with year on year quantifiable metrics.
- Implement advertising and promotion activities including print, online, electronic media.
- Monitor competitor products, sales and marketing activities.
- Assist other departments within organization to prepare manuals and technical publications.

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Discipline (Preferably Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering / Chemistry)
- Five (5) years of related experience in the in the Ion Exchange industry is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrated business acumen.
