Job Summary / Purpose : The GI Technical Specialist on the Endoscopy Unit reports to the Nurse Manager. High Level Disinfection (HLD) is a process that is followed to clean and disinfect endoscopes for procedures.

HLD is a highly regulated process that requires someone who is detail-oriented and able to follow meticulous cleaning steps to ensure no cross contamination occurs between patients.

As a HLD tech, you help support operations across peri-op as you reprocess scopes for multiple departments.

Minimum Training and Education : A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) required. High level disinfection experience preferred.

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations : Basic Life Support required within 2 weeks of hire. Thereafter, must maintain a Current Basic Life Support (BLS), either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR / AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
