KVC Kansas is looking for a Kinship Care Coordinator who will promote the importance of relative care while also providing ongoing support to relative families caring for children in foster care.
Hybrid Work Schedule : may vary based on customer needs Required to be on-call on a rotating schedule.
This position has a hybrid work schedule. Paperwork and logs may be done at home, however the position is primarily in the community completing home visits, supporting families, and includes an on call rotation.
KVC Kansas represents one of the strongest and broadest child welfare and behavioral healthcare continuums in the nation.
We are responsible for the care of all children who are served by the Kansas Department for Children and Families in the Kansas City Metro and East Regions.
KVC is seeking a Kinship Care Coordinator to promote the importance of relative placements while also providing support to relatives who are currently caring for children in foster care.
The use of company fleet vehicles is available for company travel.
KVC’s clientele represent diverse backgrounds and KVC is seeking to enhance and expand our diversity in order to better serve our clients.
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in a Social Services related field. Applicants must also have a valid driver's license and auto insurance.
Experience with children and families is preferred.
There is a $2000 Sign on Bonus associated with this position that applies only to External Candidates
The duties and responsibilities of this position are as follows :
- Assist in the continued goals of the organization to build a child welfare system that is safe, secure, and family centered.
- Conduct research to locate potential familial connections for children in foster care
- Provide ongoing support to relative families caring for children in foster care through in-home visits and frequent contact
- Acquire or develop resources needed by relative families to provide excellent care for children
- Demonstrate superior organization and time management skills along with a professional work ethic
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all interactions with clients (strong computer skills are necessary to maintain documentation in KVC’s proprietary software)
- Testify in court hearings and provide written updates to cases with court supervision
