Inventory Control Specialist

Reports To : Supply Chain Manager

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Identify parts shortages from work order report errors.
  • Report material movement in computerized ERP system.
  • Create new inventory locations using bins and locations for new or existing SKU’s. Correctly update ERP system with the changes.
  • Log assembly work orders on production status board.
  • Review received materials required for work orders
  • Cycle count parts to verify computerized inventory system counts.
  • Maintain and organize inventory locations, including general housekeeping.
  • Oversee Vendor Management System
  • Work with Production and Service departments in completing inventory adjustment sheets
  • Plan, lead and perform annual physical inventory
  • Identify obsolete and / or slow-moving products
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain Manager to maximize min / max safety stock levels
  • Understand and perform Work Order creation and release from the Machine Shop floor
  • Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Familiar with common warehouse and manufacturing processes such as FIFO (first-in first-out) stock rotation and KanBan card replenishment systems
  • A general knowledge of Windows based computer applications such as Microsoft Outlook for email use
  • MAS500 (or other ERP systems) knowledge utilizing work orders / work instructions, labor reporting, etc. is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Pays close attention to detail

Preferred Education and / or Experience :

  • High School or GED completion is required or related experience
  • Minimum 1 3 years of inventory control or related experience
  • Valid Wisconsin driver’s license.
