The Public Areas Attendant is responsible for cleaning, sanitation and safety of the front lobby area and other public areas of the hotel.

Requirements

Core Responsibilities :

• Ensure the entire front lobby is clean and presentable for the Guests.
• Immediately respond to and correct any potential safety conditions such as a wet floor due to inclement weather.
• Clean pool areas and restrooms.
• Clean all public restrooms and stock all necessary items.
• Clean all public walkways and spaces.
• Empty the trash from all offices, including the Sales, Executive and Front office.
• Clean, dust, mop, vacuum and polish the lobby area including ashtrays, furniture, house phones, wall fixtures, plants, vending machines, glass and windows.
• Greet guests in a courteous fashion.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

• High work ethic and self-initiative.
• Regular attendance according to established guidelines.
• May be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.
• Focus and maintain attention to tasks, and complete work assignments on time despite frequent interruptions.
• Ability to maintain excellent relationships with staff and maintain staff and guest confidentiality at all times.
• Ability to follow direction given in Material Safety Data Sheets and perform work in a safe and efficient manner.

Physical Requirements :

• Stand and walk for varying lengths of time, often long periods of time.
• Bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning requirements.
• Safely operate a golf cart, resort vehicle and tow a trailer.
• Inspect areas for cleanliness and immediately report guest belongings that have been left behind.
• Lift approximately thirty (30) pounds of equipment or supplies on and off a cart, using safe lifting techniques.
• Push heavy carts of approximately one hundred (100) pounds.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, pulling, pushing, listening and hearing ability and visual ability.
