ApnoMed Inc. is a healthcare company that provides patients and clinicians with a suite of FDA-cleared medical devices for those suffering from sleep apnea, a life-threatening condition where patients stop breathing while asleep.

Our purpose is to provide dental clinicians with a comprehensive A-Z solution for treating their patients who suffer from dentofacial and airway disorders.

Our products allow patients to manage their snoring and sleep apnea symptoms while bypassing all the known side effects associated with oral sleep appliances, such as permanent tooth movement, bite change, and jaw pain.

Currently, clinicians must utilize several different companies and products during a single case. With ApnoMed, we offer an entire package that can address the simplest OSA management to the most advanced surgical cases.

Chief Operating Officer :

The COO will serve in a highly visible leadership capacity in our fast-growing medical device startup company. This crucial position has a profound influence on our organization’s strategic planning, business operations strategy, business development, and the achievement of organizational efficiency.

The COO manages our day-to-day operations and drives the implementation of business strategies, requiring robust leadership skills and extensive experience in business administration and healthcare / medical device operations.

The COO collaborates directly with our CEO and other executive team members to shape the company’s operating capabilities and spearhead the execution of actionable business strategies while ensuring employee productivity and operational excellence.

To excel in this position, you’ll utilize your experience creating and implementing business operations strategies and managing performance in a medical device startup.

This position requires deep knowledge, experience, and relationships in several diverse multidisciplinary sectors such as dental sleep medicine, orthodontics, oral surgery, sleep medicine, and physician networks.

Ideally, you have a strong knowledge of the nation’s dental sleep medicine and healthcare landscape and infrastructure. You are a persistent, results-oriented leader with a proven track record of operational excellence, strategic thinking, and a passion for driving growth via out-of-the-box strategies.

Operational Leadership :

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to help build our operational teams from the ground up. This will include establishing our sales and customer success teams.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction and drive business growth and profitability.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize operational processes and enhance productivity.
  • Identify and mitigate operational risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the company
  • Oversee customer support processes and evaluate and organize them to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor key performance indicators to track operational performance and make data-driven decisions to ensure operational excellence.

Strategic Planning :

  • Collaborate with the CEO, CMO, CSO, and other executives to define the company’s strategic direction and long-term goals.
  • Assist the CEO in overseeing the company’s achievements and vision of becoming a household name when it comes to anything sleep-breathing disorder-related
  • Contribute to the development of the company's strategic plan, aligning operational objectives with overall business goals.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities and potential risks and inform strategic decision-making.

Business Development :

  • Play a critical role in business development, including identifying new business opportunities, building partnerships, and expanding the company's reach.
  • Support the pursuit of business and funding opportunities from public and private agencies.
  • Work closely with the sales team to develop and implement effective sales strategies, identify new revenue streams, and optimize pricing strategies.
  • Leverage previous business relationships and establish and maintain new partnerships and relationships with stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and other key players in the industry, ensuring ongoing communication and collaboration, regular meetings, and identifying opportunities for joint initiatives and projects.

Leadership & Team Management :

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team, encouraging integrity, persistence, and customer commitment.
  • Manages human resources to recruit skilled talent and keep the best employees.
  • Motivate and inspire team members, set clear goals and expectations, and provide guidance and support in achieving individual objectives.
  • Directly manage and oversee the Sales and Customer Success Team, ensuring revenue growth and customer satisfaction.

Financial Management :

  • Work closely with the CEO and CFO to develop and manage budgets, financial forecasts, and cost-control measures to drive informed decisions related to investments, fundraising, and other financial matters that will directly impact the company's success.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the company's finances and analyze financial data to ensure the financial health and growth of the company.
  • Implement financial best practices to drive profitability and fiscal responsibility.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations management, or a related field; MBA highly preferred.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in an operations leadership role within the healthcare industry, ideally in the dental sleep medicine and healthcare space at the multi-state or national level.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, experience, and relationships in the dental sleep medicine and healthcare industry.
  • Experience taking a start-up or small business to the next level.
  • Strong knowledge of the nation’s dental and healthcare landscape and infrastructure and a deep understanding of the market, competition, products, and latest developments in the space.
  • Understanding of the relationship and distinctions between dental sleep medicine and healthcare
  • Strong business acumen and a strategic mindset with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans. Financial literacy and the ability to analyze complex data to inform decision-making.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing operational strategies that drive business growth.
  • Excellent leadership, people management, and team building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present information, drive discussion, and respond to difficult scenarios with limited preparation.

Compensation :

  • Salary range of $110,000 - $150,000. *pay range will vary due to direct industry experience, the knowledge base of dental, sleep apnea, and medical sciences pertaining to our business / technology, and existing contacts / book of business.
