Overview
The student sonographer under the supervision of a registered ultrasound technologist is responsible to maintain regulatory and professional standards and exhibit strong decision-making capabilities.
A close working relationship with Radiology leadership, radiologists, and the medical staff is required to maintain a cost-effective and patient-focused service.
This position is responsible to provide care for patients undergoing Ultrasound procedures using the approved workflows and procedural protocols.
Ultrasound Student Assistants in this position are able to demonstrate full knowledge of Ultrasound equipment. Talent Pool; Allied Health
Responsibilities
Under direct supervision, performs routine and special exams consistent with established protocols to minimize repeat examinations.
Exam productivity is within established benchmark.
Under direct supervision, consistently completes all exams and documentation in CHL and PACS. As directed, consistently and accurately identifies all charges associated with studies.
As directed, addresses errors and resolves issues related to final product being sent to PACS.
Under direct supervision, consistently demonstrates commitment to safe practices and supports Just Culture. Commitment to use Two for Two to accurately identify patients, follows procedures to avoid laterality errors, eliminate falls and ALARA.
Completes all annual competencies by designated timeframe.
Exemplary model using AIDET, service excellence and service recovery.
As directed, assists with patient transport as necessary.
Qualifications
EDUCATION : High School Diploma or equivalent, Required
High School Diploma or equivalent. Completing senior year of an accredited Radiology, Imaging or related educational program and / or accredited ultrasound program.
EXPERIENCE : 0-1 years, Healthcare - Ultrasound Technologist, Required
0-1 years in Healthcare-Ultrasound Training LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION / REGISTRY / LISTING : REQUIRED
BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
Required : Preparing for ARDMS or RT(S)
BLS (CPR) AHA Health Care Provider BLS
