Summary
The Adjunct Instructor - Clinical for the EMS programs is responsible for meeting with students at clinical sites and providing continuous on-site instruction for EMT and paramedic students under the guidance of the Clinical Coordinator
Essential Functions
All Clinical Instructors will :
Participate in staff meetings and continuing education training when deemed necessary.
Have Intermediate experience using Windows and the MS Office Suite.
Effectively communicate with stakeholders in a professional manner, both verbal and written
Participate in the instruction of EMT and Paramedic clinical experience sessions.
Function under the direction of the Clinical Coordinator & Paramedic Program Director.
Prepare clinical sessions and deliver competent instruction on relevant patient care topics.
Demonstrate the safe and proper use of lab equipment and hazardous or bio-hazardous materials.
Report incidents to student misconduct, negative performance, or injury.
Provide leadership and positive role modeling for students.
Attend scheduled program meeting.
Perform other duties as assigned.
EMS Instructors will adhere to and maintain the necessary licenses and certifications to perform their duties.
Requirements / Qualifications
Must possess a minimum of an Associate’s degree from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the United States Department of Education.
Florida Level A EMS Instructor Certificate (All instructors)
Minimum of three years of experience with an ALS service
All EMS instructors will have BLS, ACLS, and PALS Instructor credentials as well as NAEMT instructor certification in PHTLS and AMLS within six months from date of hire to maintain employment.
