Job Summary :
The Bookkeeper will maintain accurate financial records, manage accounts payable and receivable, reconcile bank statements, and assist with payroll and tax preparation for the entity and customers.
This role requires a strong background in bookkeeping, excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities :
- Financial Record Keeping : Maintain and update financial records, including general ledger entries, invoices, receipts, and payments.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable : Manage all incoming and outgoing payments, ensuring timely and accurate billing and collections.
- Payroll Support : Provide backup for payroll processing for 18 customer companies.
- Bank Reconciliation : Reconcile monthly bank and credit card statements; identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Tax Preparation : Prepare and file sales tax returns; assist with year-end tax filings and audits.
- Financial Reporting : Generate and analyze financial reports, such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Compliance : Ensure adherence to company policies, accounting standards, and regulations.
- Audit Support : Assist with internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
- Communication : Interact with vendors, customers, and financial institutions.
- Event Tracking : Track, report, and bill for customer special events.
- Monthly Verifications : Verify monthly sales totals, sales history, and cash receipts; coordinate closing with Controller.
- Customer Communication : Communicate with customers regarding financial close reviews, billing, and collections.
- Other Duties : Perform other accounting tasks as requested by the Controller.
Qualifications :
- Experience : Minimum of 2-3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in construction, manufacturing, or service industries.
- Education : High school diploma required; Associate's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience preferred.
- Skills :
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks).
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with payroll processing and inventory management is a plus.
- Good reasoning ability and capability to interpret accounting reports and legal documents.
